CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne this weekend, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department and the Laramie County Sheriff's Office.
Motor Vehicle Theft, June 4, Greeley Highway
An officer who was on patrol observed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen earlier in the day on Greeley Highway in Cheyenne after the suspect had run from police earlier. The office conducted a high-risk stop and had the suspect come out of the vehicle. The suspect was informed that the vehicle was stolen, and was read his Miranda Rights before being questioned. A second officer conducted a search of the vehicle, during which he found a small metal pipe with suspected marijuana residue on it.
Criminal Trespass, June 3, South Greeley Highway
Deputies were called to a home on South Greeley Highway at around 10:45 p.m. to a call of a man trying to re-enter a residence he had been evicted from. The responding deputy found a yellow eviction notice on the door to the trailer and saw that the back window was opened. Though deputies cleared the trailer, they were called again at 12 a.m. to a call that the man had returned to the trailer. Upon arrival, the deputies found that the back window was now closed with a chair in front of it. The owner of the unit opened the door for officers, where they found the suspect in the bedroom of the department. He was arrested soon after.

A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper was driving on I-25 when they observed a white SUV traveling at 93 mph. Upon pulling over the vehicle, the trooper found that the driver had a warrant for failure to pay, at which point the suspect was detained. Upon searching the vehicle, the trooper found a suspected felony amount of cocaine along with scales and small bags for individual sales. There was also a loaded handgun in the vehicle.
