GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, Nov. 4, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
DWUS, Nov. 4, Garner Lake Road, CCSO
Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said deputies cited a 33-year-old man after stopping him for improper registration on Garner Lake Road around 7:53 a.m. The man was operating a vehicle with plates that didn’t belong to it and was found to be driving without a valid license or insurance. The man was cited for not having insurance and driving under suspension, and the plates were seized.
Theft from auto, Nov. 4, Daybreak Court, GPD
Officers responded to Daybreak Court around 5 p.m. to investigate a stolen firearm report, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. A 42-year-old man said he left his $500 1911-style .45 caliber handgun in his unlocked 2014 Ford pickup. The firearm was taken between 6 a.m. Nov. 3 and 5 p.m. Nov. 4. The investigation is ongoing.
